Worst Week of My Life!!!

It's true...it really was. Can I please fill you in?

Monday - I was sick with a 101* fever with chills and hot flashes. I didn't realize I was truly sick (because I'm a perfectionist and I don't get sick) until one of my Tippi Toes teachers told me and I had been teaching all day!!!

Tuesday - I had a run-in with a certain person I know...let's just leave it at that...it's cool whatev, but they did ruin my night

Wednesday - I unfortunately lost a really wonderful (actually fabulous) Tippi Toes teacher :( I hope she comes back to teach with us soon.

Thursday - Or the cherry on top day - I received a letter in the mail from the state saying there was a WARRANT out for MY ARREST!!! Yes people, you heard it right. Long story short, back in October I got pulled over for speeding. I've never gotten a ticket of any kind before and I misunderstood the officer and I thought he was giving me a warning. Well, turns out I was way wrong!!!!!

Friday - I had to go to court to get things settled so I didn't go to JAIL. Luckily a good friend of mine was able to come with me for moral support (thanks, Emily!) and the judge took away all those charges. I just had to pay the initial ticket and court fees which was way better than paying over $600 or ya know hittin' the slammer. However, while I was speaking with him because I was so nervous I word vomited like no man's business and he responds with "do you always talk this much..." Why yes, yes I do ): Glad that's over...

Anyways I am so excited for the weekend and ready for a new week to begin!!!!

Confession

Hello all!
I know I know - I never blog these days! Well I have a confession to make... I've become...A WORKAHOLIC!!

Okay so not in the has way where if I had kids I'd choose work over them but I seriously think about Tippi Toes all the time!!! I can't help myself- I'm obsessed! I just love it so much. Its kind of unhealthy! I figure now's as good of time as any to be a workaholic since Alex and I don't have any kiddos yet. He makes fun of me sometimes and really I try to control myself. Like I try not to work onthe weekends or after a certain time at night so I avoid the off-chance that I get burnt-out.

Anyways just had to share. Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of blogging soon :)

Miles!

Oh how I just love this little man!

So for any of you who don't know the back story:
I did not grow up with dogs and I do (well did) not like them - not really even small dogs. Well, okay some dogs were cute, but definitely not big dogs. So anyways of course my husband LOVES dogs and the great debate began - when were we going to get a dog?

I was lucky that the first year we were married our landlord did not allow pets, but as soon as we moved into a house it was "when are we getting a dog?!" I'll admit I wanted a dog but not the kind Alex had in mind! I wanted a cute, little dog and Alex wanted a big dog. We thought we would compromise on a medium sized dog until one fateful afternoon I started researching labs - I know weird. Well I decided that if we had to have a big dog a lab was a good fit. Alex was fairly convinced I'd fall in love with our puppy and then be okay when he grew big, but there was still a little uneasiness that things would not go well.

So what happened when we found this little guy?! I fell in love that's what! Alex (and myself) was so surprised at how easy I fell in love with little Miles. This is from when we first picked him up - he was a sleepy pup!
I mean really? How could you not?

Anyways the other day I was thinking - wow I really love Miles! And of course I really love Alex and I really love my family and friends, but it is a new kind of love (not that those other loves are the same...that'd be weird). Like how I probably will love my future child. And I've decided that's weird and kind of ridiculous and also kind of scary! I think being a parent is probably really crazy-scary (and yeah, yeah really great too!) But like how do you not worry about your child all the time? Anyways I guess I'll find out sooner or later, but right now I'm good with just being Mile's mommy :)

Things I learned this weekend

Hi Friends!
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty fabulous if I may say! I'll tell you what even with just one year under my belt as Tippi Toes OKC franchise owner I am so much more relaxed! Of course I am still pretty busy (with more things coming as classes get ready to start - August 29!!!) but things are getting just a tad easier and I love that :)

Just a post about things I learned about life this weekend:

1. Chocolate candies take way longer to make if you only have one mold - one of my really close friends, Megan, is having a baby and I along with another friend Sarah through her a baby shower this weekend. For favors I made these chocolate baby candies. They took about 12 years to make though because I only had one mold...

2. Babies need a lot of stuff - Okay I already knew this, but it was just reinforced at this shower!

3. I really can't handle the thought of my sweet baby Miles getting hurt! As Alex and I were getting ready for church yesterday morning, Milies jammed his leg as he was running around and immediately crumpled and could barely walk and was crying. Neither of us knew what to do and I was practically in tears! Thankfully he healed quickly (maybe a twist or a bad bruise?) after sitting (okay being cradled like a baby) and we didn't have to take him to the vet. It was really scary and I would just prefer that to never happen again.

4. Naps are fabulous - in the right setting. After church yesterday Alex and I took a nap! A lot of times I really can't nap because my brain does not stop going, but yesterday worked. We hadn't in soo long and it was soo nice! Except for when Alex wouldn't get up afterwards and I had to go get Miles to lick him awake :) Okay that was pretty great too :)

5. Don't take the loved ones in your life for granted - on Saturday Alex went to hang out with his friends and I decided to have a night to myself. Well of  course part of that time would be dedicated to food blogging (and of course the rest to reality tv)! I came across a really sad post about a dedication to a fellow blogger who suddenly lost her husband; and then another, and then another. After a little more looking, I found that this woman lost her husband suddenly to a heart attack. She asked that everyone make a peanut butter pie in memory of her husband since it was his favorite. That led to bloggers everywhere making a post about peanut butter pie. My reaction - well of course I called Alex sobbing and barely making any sense while trying to explain to him my crazy behavior. Anyways it just reminded me how precious life is. To remember to cherish those that are special to me. And to not take anything for granted.

Food Blog Love

So I first discovered my love of food blogs this past spring. Let me tell you that love quickly grew into an obsession! I'd like to share a few of my favorite food blogs with you!

Joy the Baker - so so so great! This one was my first obsession. She has such great recipes and is so funny! I love the way she writes and I not-so-secretly would like to meet her. She absolutely has the most amazingly fantastic s'mores brownies :)

How Sweet It Is - You will die- she is absolutely hilarious!!! She makes me laugh out loud and is a great place to go when you need a laugh. And her recipes are amazing- duh. She and Joy are tied for first place of favorite blogs. She makes really yummy roasted green bean fries and about a trillion amazing desserts that I can't wait to make like better-than-crack brownies and cookie dough dip

Two Peas & Their Pod - she isn't crazy-funny like the first two but her recipes are great! I also love that she is pregnant- is that weird? I like happy, married, pregnant ladies. They make me smile.... not that not-married pregnant ladies make me sad? Hmm....I'll just stop...awkward sorry...

Anyways she always has really great looking cookie recipes like triple chocolate oreo chunk cookies and food-food like spinach artichoke white bean crostini

The Pioneer Woman - she is so wise :) Some of her recipes are too out there for me mainly though because I'm picky and I don't eat cows or most sea creatures. But her pasta with tomato cream sauce was pretty fab and this grilled corn guacamole looks like a winner. I also like how she will sometimes post her top favorites of "fill in the blank category."

Annie's Eats - this is the newest member of my food blog list so I don't know as much yet, but I like her! A friend introduced me to this blog and she's pretty great! I'm pretty excited about her black bean burgers except I'll have to wait to make these for a girls' night or something since Alex thinks this whole no-meat burger thing is from crazy town. But I think he would enjoy some double cookie dough ice cream and I would too!

That's it folks! My top five food blogs. It may seem weird to you but I love them :) :)

Summer Recap

So let me first just share with all of you that I've been typing for um 30 minutes when I accidentally closed the internet window, lost all that I had been posting on here, and now have to recreate it when I didn't even want to do it all in the first place...

It has been a way long time since I have been on here and mainly just because I like creeping on other people's blogs more then making my own. Also, I have discovered food blogs. Yup. I read them all the time. I even have my favorites bookmarked. I check them daily and get sad when there isn't new food for me to look at. Pretty weird right? I'm not embarrassed. And don't judge because I have made some pretty fabulous recipes this summer!

Anyways back to my summer recap that starts right now!

The Tippi Toes conference in Tulsa this summer was so amazing! It was so great to finally meet everyone in person and catch up with those I already knew! Sarah and Megan did a wonderful job and I'm so lucky to be a part of such an inspiring group of women! Watch out world Tippi Toes is comin' at you strong this year! We can't wait to teach your kiddos our awesome dances! AND they had a banquet for us at the end of the weekend which Alex came up for. AND I won Franchisee of the Year! It was such a surprise when Sarah and Megan called my name! I won a really great trophy and a beautiful diamond ring! Needless to say I was shocked! I'm so thankful to be a part of Tippi Toes. I know I say this all the time but I really have the best job of all time!
Receiving my awards

Picture with Sarah and Megan (and cutie Lola!)
Next came Princess Camp in OKC! Wowzer what a week- dancing, princesses, sparkles, stories, crafts! It was a blast and my teachers did so well. Those little princesses were so fun!!!
Making princess necklaces with Princess Ivy the inventor!

These princesses were perfect ballerinas!

Practicing one of the princess dances

A little freeze dance before snack time!
After a great camp, summer classes started and Alex and I FINALLY bought me a new car!
Unfortunately about two weeks later I wrecked it :(
On our way up to Colorado, we left really early in the morning (my idea. I feel like if you leave early and get there when its still kind of daytime its better) And it was really dark on the highway because we were out in the boonies with no street lights. Well little did I know that there was a semi truck tire waiting for me to run over. My cute little car could not handle it and lets just say five hours later, a tow truck taking us to the body shop, and Alex's parents kindly letting us borrow their car, we left for our trip to Colorado. Let's just say I won't be in a hurry to leave early anymore... the damage to the car is deceiving- it cost $3400 to fix it!!! Thank goodness for insurance right? I felt horrible!!!

At least our trip to Colorado was great! Remember when I said for our anniversary Alex gave me a "good for one anniversary-like" trip pass? We decided to go to Colorado since we had never been up by ourselves. It was SO nice! So quiet and just the two of us. We did some hiking around but mostly were lazy and enjoyed the beautiful mountain view! Sorry I don't have any pictures!! Then we got to bring this little guy into our family!!!
Meet Miles Genheimer!!!

The next weekend I headed up to Chicago for my older sister's, Sarah, bridal shower! Her bridesmaids (me, my other sister, Alisa, Leslie in Californian and Melinda in Philidelphia) as well as our mom were all able to get together for a fun-filled weekend! It was great!
We did an "around the world" theme because Sarah loves to travel and her and Jeff are going on an African Safari for their honeymoon!!

The following weekend I went down to Texas to see my parents and Alisa and have a belated- Birthday Shopping Trip with my mom and Alisa! We went to some really fun stores and my mom bought me a dress and headband (of course) for my present. I love that my parents still make a big deal about birthdays :)

Then my parents came to Oklahoma the following weekend because my dad was going to help us fix our sick-nasty kitchen ceiling. He is superman- seriously he can fix anything. He and Alex took the box out and then (because they ran out of time) the following Monday Alex's dad helped Alex put the new lights in. Before and After below!
So this isn't a very good picture but this was back in the spring when we first started remodeling but you can see how low the ceiling is with that weird box light deal

But then we got to literally smash it off and it looked like this!

This is after our awesome dads and of course super-Alex put in some major work hours
And painted - just pretend that back part isn't still white okay?

Other side of the room- so much better right?

Now that leads us basically up to now- getting ready for a second year of Tippi Toes in OKC! I am so pumped and have some really great new schools and new teachers to help me out!

Hello World!

How I have missed all of you! I have a lot of catching up to do in the blog world and really don't know where to start! Hmm...let's go back a ways...

To Alex and my 1st anniversary! Yes that was 3 weeks ago...! I had plans of writing this blog all about Alex and how much I love him and make it really gushy and gross you guys out but he did such a great job of making our anniversary weekend the best that I didn't have time! Then before I knew it, it was the week again and it had left my mind (ya know to that part that holds all the unfinished projects or ideas you have that you don't get to for 12 weeks)! I'll just give you a shortened version of our special day :)

We got up and went to this cutie coffee shop we've been to a few times called Full Cup. This place is just so darn cute and I just love that it's not a Starbucks. Is that bad? Don't get me wrong, I like Starbucks (I am a franchise owner myself duh) but I just feel bad for the little coffee shops sometimes!

Then we went home and opened presents! I got Alex and personalized garden rock that says "The Genheimers - Est May 22, 2010." He loves landscaping if you didn't know and has been in the process of updating our yard. He got me a certificate good for one "honeymoon-like" trip! This was super exciting as I always talk about how I want another honeymoon :) More on this in a later post :)

A little later in the morning we went down to Moore to get our wedding cake topper! Let me just say I have been thinking about our cake topper ever since we ordered our cake before our wedding! THEY GIVE YOU A ANNIVERSARY CAKE TOPPER FOR FREE! I mean that is basically why we chose them :) It is delicious...I wish I had another one right now...

We went to lunch at Zios- Zios is where we went the night Alex asked me to be his girlfriend so this Italian restaurant is extra special :) Then we went to the newly renovated OKC Botanical Gardens (also where we went on our first night as an official couple). It is just so beautiful there I wish it was closer to where we lived! We don't get to go to often since it is all the way downtown.

Then we came home and relaxed! It was perfect and I just love him :)
The end. Have a good week!

Why I Love My iPhone

Not too long ago, Alex and I joined the ranks of iPhone lovers and oh how we love our iPhones. These are my favorite reasons:

1. I have this cute cover:
2. I can check my email when I'm gone all day teaching
3. I can run with iMapMyRun and Pandora- ah pure bliss :)
4. I can write down notes immediately so I don't forget anything I need to do
5. I can plan out Alex's and my meal plan for the week all on my phone- recipe apps and grocery lists all in one :)
6. I can wake up to any song or sound I want!
7. I don't ever have to know where I am going before I leave (which might be a bad habit)! Google maps on my phone? Thank you!
8. AroundMe.....enough said
9. I can actually see the pictures I take and send
10. I don't really have a tenth but that bothers me so I will just say I really love iMapMyRun :) :) :)

So...I know I haven't posted in about 10 years but recital time, Princess camp planning, MOVING BUYING A HOUSE, living in that house while it is basically under construction (Alex and I just moved out of the living room into a bedroom two nights ago-no not the master!), and still trying to teach class, answer emails, and sleep will do that to you :)

Anyways I just really want to tell all of you (even though only like two people read this) that I just had the most absolutely wonderful, amazing, uplifting experience at the PULSE dance convention in Dallas. It was so great to dance all weekend- afterwards I was inspired, refreshed and awakened, and sore (which I know this is weird but I love that feeling). I wish I could go every month :) Here are some pics for you :)

On our way back from buying our PULSE goodies (sweatpants duh) before classes begin in the morning!

After our first class- Hip Hop with Dave Scott- believe me I looked real cool...but it was still great :)

Central Market duh- Ariel and Liz had never been!!!

 Fancy shoes :)

Right before our last class with MIA MICHAELS. It was a glorious weekend :)

TIPPI TOES ON SHARK TANK!!!

The creators of Tippi Toes, Sarah Nuse and Megan Reilly, will be on ABC's Shark Tank this Sunday for the SPECIAL SEASON PREMIER!!! Come to the OKC's Watch Party at Hideaway Pizza on Northwest Expressway!

I am so so so excited to see how they do in the shark tank! I'm sure they did great- I mean who would not love them or Tippi Toes?!

Malls, Babies, and Houses oh my!

I feel like everyone in the world is having a baby! Four of my friends are pregnant and one of my friends, Erin, just had a baby! Who by the way is so stinkin' cute! I got to meet little Amos four hours after he was born! I'm so excited for Erin and Michael and know they will be awesome parents!

I remember thinking it was weird when people started getting married and I guess this is just the next step...Alex and I were at the mall yesterday and I felt sooooo ooooolddd-there were so many teen/tweenagers there and I remember being one of them!!! The first taste of freedom from the rents-going to the mall all afternoon and trying on tons of clothes with my friends! I've decided I don't really like malls anymore-or at least the ones near us! I think I'm more of a stand-alone store or a strip mall kinda girl now.:)

Anyways...I don't really know what to say except ALEX AND I ARE BUYING A HOUSE!!!!
We have our inspections tomorrow and hopefully all is well. I haven't talked about it on here at all because I didn't want to jinx it. Which I guess I may be doing as I type but I just can't hold it in anymore. I guess I will wait to post pics until everything goes through...!

Say a little prayer that all works out :)

The Pulse!!!

Oh my goodness you guys I am so excited that in ONE MONTH I am going to The Pulse dance convention in Dallas!!! I'm rooming with my good friend, Megan, and some of our other dance friends will be going also! I haven't gone to a dance convention in about a billion years and I am so excited for this weekend full of dancing and fun!

It will be interesting, however, to take those hip hop classes I've been hearing about...as most of you know I am not exactly the hip hop type. Don't get me wrong, I wish I was-I love hip hop! But lets just say I wish I had these fab accessories to boost my confidence and trick everyone into thinking I know what I am doing :)

TABBY SWEATS
Nabbytabs-I mean who wouldn't want these??

Or some of these cute shoes to get me through class?

We'll see...maybe these will be added to my birthday list this summer :)

Why I Hate Winter

Now don't get me wrong, I love a good cold Christmas-snow makes it a plus as long as you can get to where your going. I love snuggling with my hubby on New Year's Eve; I'll even take it as far back as a nice cold Thanksgiving so I can wear a my cute tights, but that is where it stops. After New Year's Eve I say "goodbye Winter, hello Spring!!!" Here are my top 10 reasons why Spring is better than Winter:

1. I have much cuter Spring clothes than Winter clothes.
2. I can run OUTSIDE instead of on a treadmill.
3. PICNICS!!! Alex and I can go to the park and not be worried about freezing are booties off.
4. Springtime outdoor activities cost way less than Winter ones- ski lift tickets are nuts! Hiking and swimming? Free :)
5. I don't have to get up earlier to de-ice my car.
6. I don't have to get up earlier to put on more layers. And even though I am not a parent yet I can bet all of you out there hate having to take 20 extra minutes to put 12 layers more layers on your child you know... "just in case."
7. I don't have to plan out what I am wearing before I take a shower so I don't immediately freeze after leaving the toasty-warm shower.
8. My hair lightens up a bit-I don't die my hair and I like it when it is in it's Spring/Summer stage more than yucky, weird, winter hair.
9. I don't look like a ghost- I also don't tan so in the Springtime I have some color to me instead of basically being transparent.
10. My skin does not dry out and I don't look like I have OCD from washing my hands too much (except I've kind of figured this one out this year-I put lotion on my hands before I go to bed because I read your skin heals better while you sleep)! Still, I sometimes forget :(

Who else likes Spring more than Winter???

What a Weekend!

I mean, this weekend has been the absolute greatest! Tippi Toes Day of Dance was AMAZING!!! It was so much fun-I want to do it again next year! We had about 35 (maybe a few more...!) kiddos participating and I'd say about half of them were new people who aren't in Tippi Toes classes (or at least not yet... ;) ) It was so great to have 1. Our own dancers coming to support us and 2. Meeting all these new dancers and their families! 3. My AWESOME teachers doing such a great job-of course! Emily and Kaitlyn were so helpful and the kids they taught had a blast! It came at such a great time too with this bad weather we've been having-it gave families something to do after being stuck inside! I'll keep you all updated on who all enrolls from Saturday!

Afterwards, Alex and I went and met up with some of our friends for Alex's best friend, Andrew's, birthday dinner! It was fun to see everyone and relax after some serious working and planning days before. And plus, we went and ate Braum's ice cream afterwards! I got my usual- chocolate reeses mix with caramel on top-heaven! I mean, go big or go home people!

Stir Fry Me, Stir Fry Me Not!

So I checked off another one of my recipes this evening! I made Thai-Style Stir-Fried Chicken
Alex liked it. Me? Not so much. I mean it was okay...but I wouldn't make it again. I think some of you out there would probably like it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe it was the coconut milk? Who knows. BUT I can tell you that this one I tried a few weeks ago, Garlic Turkey-Broccoli Stir Fry, is fantastic! I used chicken because I didn't have turkey breast, but this is a definite keeper :)
Stir-fries are a really great invention I have decided. So easy to make quickly at the end of the day :)

Resolution Update

I've realized this past week that I haven't been sharing any of my new recipes with you all! Most of the recipes I have made have been good except 1) The "meatballs" (I used ground turkey) from Double Delicious-yuck! They were sick-nasty and 2) Salmon w/ Chickpea Ragu from Eillie Krieger's So Easy-this may have been partially my fault, but it was bad news...but on to some yummy treats!

I would post the recipes on here, but then my post would be outa-control long and you might fall asleep!

Easy Chicken-Mushroom Quesadillas- So Easy by Ellie Krieger
^SO easy and so good! Alex and I love them!

Chicken Satay- Double Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld
^Yum, yum, yum! I could eat them everyday...! I think I made them with these:
Cracked Black Pepper Chips-So Easy by Ellie Krieger
^ I didn't make that dip with it. This was the easiest link I could find :)

Tortellini Spinach Soup- So Easy by Ellie Krieger
^Again so fast! Also I love that the tortellini is in soup and not like a heavy cream sauce. Also tortellini isn't the best thing in the world for you and you aren't eating tons of it because its in soup! I'd leave out the tomatoes next time though because I don't like tomatoes :)

Okay I can't find these online so I will type them out:

Pasta With Spinach and Edamame-BHG
1 9oz pkg refrigerate fettuccine (I used dried)
2 C frozen sweet soybeans (edamame)
1/2 C walnuts, broken (I left these out because Alex doesn't like nuts in his food)
2/3 C bottled Italian salad dressing w/ cheese (I didn't get it with cheese and added parmesan to the finished product)
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 C. baby spinach

1. Cook pasta and soybeans.
2. If using, toast walnuts in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
3. Stir salad dressing and pepper into the hot pasta in the pan. Add spinach and nuts and cook over medium heat for 1 minutes.
4. Enjoy!

Vermicelli w/ Sausage and Spinach-BHG
If you know me, you know I didn't use sausage-yuck! I used cut-up chicken instead :)
3/4 C chopped onion (clearly I left this out too)
2 large cloves of garlic, chopped
2 tsp. olive oil
2 14 oz. cans reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 C water
8 oz. pkg dried vermicelli or angel hair pasta, broken in half
1 9 oz. pkg fresh prewashed baby spinach
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/3 C whipping cream (I used half and half)

1. Cook chicken (or sausage if you choose), onion, and garlic in hot oil in a 4-qt Dutch oven over med-high heat until chicken is cooked through and onion is tender.
2. Add broth and water and bring to a boil. Add pasta, cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
3. Add spinach and pepper; cook about 1 minute until spinach wilts
4. Stir in cream and serve!

Okay, I feel like this last one should have it's own post, but I don't want to overwhelm all of you! It's like magic in a bowl-the possibilities are endless!

20-Minute Noodle Bowls
1 14 oz. can reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 C teriyaki sauce
1/4 C water
2 C frozen stir-fry or mixed vegetables
2 3 oz. packages ramen noodles (Okay, you know I hate even the idea of Ramen noodles, so I used angel hair pasta and broke it in half)

In a large saucepan, combine the broth, teriyaki sauce, and water and bring to a boil. Stir in frozen veggies and noodles (if using ramen, discard the seasoning pack). Return to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 3 minutes or until noodles and veggies are cooked. Enjoy!

BUT the great thing about this is you can use all sorts of substitutes and it is the best weeknight meal!!! Here are some:

Instead of teriyaki and water use:
*1/2 C peanut sauce
*1/2 C sweet-&-sour sauce
*1/2 C alfredo sauce (not sure about this one, but it's listed)!
*1/2 C italian dressing and add zucchini, spinach, and green beans
Any of these can have chicken or some sort of meat added
I say- GENIOUS!

Which recipe do you think sounds the best?

Wait...what?!

Please tell me where this week went? I feel like I was running around like a crazy person! I mean it was all productive and great, but yeash!

Tippi Toes is hosting a Tippi Toes Day of Dance next weekend (February 5th to be exact). I am so super pumped and in preparation, I have been putting fliers up everywhere I can think of! OKC public schools even approved it so lots of little elementary children took fliers home to their parents. I started this event in the hopes that more people would find out about Tippi Toes and enroll, but right now I am just so excited to offer this day to the community. It's free so I am really hoping that kids who don't normally get to come to things like this will get to enjoy a great afternoon of dancing! Spread the word-I want this to be big!!!

I'll let you all know how it goes...I'm off to enjoy my Friday evening :)

What a Week!

This past week has been super busy, hectic, stressful and FUN! I loved it! Tippi Toes started three new classes this January and it has been so fun meeting new kids! Tearstained (the dance company I'm in if I haven't mentioned it here yet) performed at the PURE Magazine Launch Party on Thursday night (see magazine here- we're on page 37)! It was amazing-friends, music, costumes, and DANCING!!! I just love that I know such a great group of women who share with me the love of dance that I have. The audience loved us and we had a blast :)

This is the only picture I have to share with you right now. It's one of all our shoes for the hip hop dance!

New Beginnings

So some of you may have been wondering why my blog was tracybarnhart.blogspot.com and not tracygenheimer.blogspot.com. Well since I got married half way through the year (and then didn't really figure out blogging till later than that) I didn't want to change my website and get confused again. But with the new year beginning, I have decided to leave my old blog and continue it on this new one with my new name.

I am so excited for 2011! 2010 was out of control:
I married the most wonderful man in the world;
I went on the most absolute, perfect honeymoon;
Started my own business;
Climbed a fourteener;
Gained a new brother (hooray Jeff and Sarah)!

I never make New Year's resolutions-not because I always break them, it was just not a tradition I ever started. This year, however, I thought of two:
1. I am going to make it a habit of actually using my cookbooks to their fullest. I get so excited when I get a new cookbook, or bookmark a recipe online. Usually I'll pick out a few recipes and then I get in the rut of making the same things for convenience. This year, I want to continually add new recipes to Alex and my meal menu. And those recipes I've earmarked, but haven't made yet, will be the first to use! I'm going to add this to my blog too so that you can enjoy my discoveries!
2. This one isn't really a resolution, because this is my life now BUT I want Tippi Toes to just grow and grow!  A way I will make this into a task, however, is just to always try my best in every aspect of my business. Continually contacting potential locations to have classes, finding cost-effective ways to advertise to get kiddos in those classes and so on. Tippi Toes has been so awesome and I can't wait to see where we are next year!

Happy New Year's everyone!
